Five books by my bed all shouting “read me!”… wondering where do I start?

Read the book? Any insights?

Enlighten me please 🙂

The road less travelled is great, but it depends on your mood. A Thousand Splendid Suns is for when you’re in a mood for thinking about deep issues like humanity and other world issues. It’s an AMAZING novel. As for Eat Pray Love, if you’re looking for inspiration, light reading, and laughter, read it. It’s great too and I really enjoyed it last summer. She’s a funny writer even though her book discusses deep issues.

I’ve started with “Eat Pray Love”, it has just the right ingredients; inspiration and laughter, can’t ask for more!

Oh yes! Just as you typed that, I got a call from the post office announcing that my new book just arrived from Amazon. ‘The Angel’s Game’ by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I was terrified it wouldn’t arrive before I travel tomorrow. I ordered it specifically for long plane trips and waits in airports 🙂

    Thanks for your golden blessing!

No doubt, start with The Road Less Traveled. Take my word for it, one of the best, you won’t regret it. Let me know what you think :p.

I got this book some 2 years back, but for some reason I went to reading other books. I just noticed it in my bookshelf few days back and thought I’ll bring it back to life again. I’ll let you know how it goes, keep following my “book reviews” section every now and again 🙂

I’ve only read A Thousand Splendid Suns and it’s definitely an amazing read. I don’t read a lot nowadays but when I read this book, I was hooked. It’s very emotional, though.

I love emotional books, how it makes you feel like you’re actually there living the scene! When it’s a happy moment, your mood is good. When it’s a sad moment, you find yourself gloomy, not wanting to go out!

      Words do magic 🙂

I see you’ve started with Eat Pray Love, that’s one of my favourite books and perfect light summer reading. Good choice 😀

thanks for dropping in Sam 🙂

I’ve checked Shelfari a while ago, I was hoping I could get it to appear in my side-bar but unfortunately wordpress does not allow it yet, something to do with java not being safe enough, I don’t know 😦

    Salam,

I wouldn’t give you specific recommendations, but I can offer you this advice. Go with your inner feeling, seek your greatest interest, and don’t oblige yourself to complete a book if you lost interest or when another book’s shouting voice becomes unbearable!

    🙂

      Wa3alikum elSalam..

thanks Hamed. I’m half way through “eat, pray, love” and it’s awesome!
Generally, I try to finish off a book as much as I can, I give it a chance even if it wasn’t my cup of tea.. unless it’s bad for my taste or it intoxicates my brain, then I stop.
