Exactly 5 years ago..

I was in this place (The Chedi, Muscat) exactly 5 years ago.

How much life has changed.

How much we have matured.

How much we have grown and how much love has grown with us.

Life took us through paths of love and despair, together we managed to cherish those of love alone.. AlhamduLilah

Shahrayar, you put it right, we were there once, then came back after 5 years to that exact spot. Maybe we should make it a habit, like a ritual to go back every year just to remember and cherish some special moments of transformation.

Umm…. are you like … a couple writing posts to each other on a blog? Now YOU are the hilarious one, not me. I read several of your posts and enjoyed them! I’d love to see a post in the near future on life in Sharqiyya. I visited Sur in 1990. Yes, you heard me, 1990. And I hardly remember a thing, because I must have been about 5. I remember lots of boats, and basically that’s it. Write more! You’ve got the language, you’ve got the talent, and believe me, there IS an audience out there. I started my blog in April thinking I’d be writing to myself, but boy have I had an endless supply of feedback and emails. Writing is therapy. Good luck! Keep following my blog, and I’ll keep following yours 🙂

Hey Nadia.. thanks for passing by! Make it a habit 🙂 We’ve started blogging on the same month, so here we’ve got very strong common grounds!

Well, I cannot say much about life in Sharqiyah, I’ve lived in Salalah for 2 years (Malik, my brother – if you’ve read the post “Why speech therapy?”, was born there, we always joke around say he looks Dhofari, what do you think?…… and lived in Nizwa for 2 years. Scotland 5 years and Muscat the rest of it, do the counting!
Sharqiya is where I belong, but where I do not live nor have ever lived. It’s my origin, like the answer I give whenever anyone Omani asks “min wain?”. We spend some summers there, and go during Eids so yah all the memories I have of Sharqiya are nice ones, will write about it someday..

Thank you very much, same to you! I enjoyed every post I read of yours. I have so much to write about, us new bloggers can get over-whelmed, suddenly we’ve got a platform for our thoughts to be displayed on 😀
